Sing that body electric I’m on fire, baby I’m on fire
Dennifer AU - The one where they have a daughter
She has her father’s eyes and her mother’s smile.
It’s a teacher work day in Beacon Hills which means Alexis Jaylee is off from school but Jen is stuck sitting through meetings all day.
The phone rings for the third time since Jen left the house this morning. “Did she eat breakfast?" Jen asks Derek, worried. Derek chuckles a little and looks over at Alexis who’s just came down the stairs with her stuffed fox named Rex in hand. “She’ll eat breakfast. Then we’ll watch some cartoons or go to the toy store like I promised. We’re fine Jen." Derek says while pouring a glass of orange juice for himself and Alexis.
8 year old Alexis walks herself to the bar stool at the kitchen counter and climbs up onto it. “Morning daddy. Is that mommy on the phone?" Derek nods and Jen asks to talk to Alexis. He hands the phone over and watches as Alexis nods her head along with the conversation.
"I know, I know. Don’t watch too many cartoons and don’t forget to clean my room. I already did all of my homework yesterday, remember?" She smiles. “Love you mommy. Here’s daddy again." She hands the phone back to Derek. “So yeah we’re good here. Don’t worry about us. We love you." Alexis swings her arms out wide and giggles “We love you mommy!" she says loud enough for Jen to hear her through the other end of the phone.
